Backcountry Ski Tours

Day return or overnight, to a destination that has adequate snow cover and is rated to have reduced avalanche danger (there is no such thing as “avalanche safe” in the Alps in winter). We will skin up and ski down, seeking true backcountry destinations rather than routes adjacent to the piste at a resort. Equipment hire is available, including boots, backcountry skis with alpine touring bindings, climbing skins, adjustable ski poles, avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel, and optionally avalanche airbag. This tour is great for visitors, skiers who would like to try backcountry skiing, and for locals who would just like to join in with a group and make new friends!
